The treasures of travel: one Reward Hunter’s experiences

The world beyond my doorstep has always beckoned me, even teasing my dreams from childhood. With a keen interest in aviation and photography, and an airline career under my belt, my dreams have become reality. I’ve amassed a lifetime education by frequently crossing seas, borders and cultures, reveling in the sights and sounds of new places, and enjoying customized experiences. My first travel experiences were global backpacking trips and economy lodging, these gave way to corporate travel and eventually destination-based leisure travel.

I’ve had the opportunity to stand atop Kaieteur Falls in Guyana; celebrate colorful Holi Festival in Kolkata, West Bengal, India; enjoy the serenity of a vegetarian meal served by Po Lin Buddhists near giant Tian Tan Buddha; spend an elegant night at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai; and photograph rainbows over Bulgaria’s southern Rhodope Mountains.

As a Reward Hunter, when I travel for pleasure, I value luxurious retreats with an emphasis on fine touches and relaxing atmospheres. Elegant hotels with exceptional views – whether urban, beach or scenic vistas – have always been a favorite of mine. When I’m on the move, I prefer to harness the power of mobile travel technologies. I feel having direct access and control over my travel plans is vital to ensuring a stress-free and well-connected adventure.

Although I do appreciate five-star meals from world-renowned chefs, I must admit that when I travel I prefer to dine like a local. I’ll seek out referrals to established local eateries, and love to experience fresh, garden-to-table homemade meals when visiting a new destination.
